Rent first

Play a few sessions on rental markers before you buy. You'll learn what style you enjoy and what features actually matter to you.

The three types

Markers fall into three broad groups:

  • Pump — one shot per pump; cheap, reliable and great for skill.
  • Mechanical — semi-automatic and robust; the classic first upgrade.
  • Electronic — light trigger and high rate of fire; more to maintain.

Buying second-hand

On the TACPLAY Marketplace, players advertise their own used gear. Ask for extra photos and the air system's test information, and inspect higher-value markers in person before you pay — payment is agreed directly with the seller.
